Altùris Ribolla Gialla IGP Venezia Giulia 2020
131 in stock
From Friuli Venezia Giulia, a famous wine region of Italy on the border with Austria and Slovenia, that is known for the production of the highest quality white wines. Ribolla Gialla is the Friulan aristocratic native grape, always standing out from the crowd.
Lively and brilliant straw yellow colour, with elegant greenish reflections. Aromatic and intense bouquet, with fruity notes of peach, melon, apple and acacia flowers. In the mouth it is fresh, enveloping, dry and persistent. Wonderful fresh acidity, minerality, complexity on the palate, full bodied and beautifully viscous from the lees ageing.
Vinified in glass lined cement tanks ‘Sur Lie’ after harvesting by hand.
The perfect pairing for this wine is definitely Thai food, but all types of Asian food work well.
“I think this might be the most gorgeous, best value Ribolla Gialla at £13.99 – Picture pulpy, mouth filling pear drop candy ripeness combined with lemon peel pizzazz and tang. This wine with its purity of fruit yet satisfying plush texture would unite Sauvignon blanc and Chardonnay fans alike. And the Traminer, Chardonnay and Cabernet were all fantastic and also were all under £15!!!” – Amelia Singer, The Wine Show presenter & Internationally award winning Wine Communicator and Educator.

This very special winery is located in the beautiful hills of Friuli, known as Italian White Wine Heaven: Friuli-Venezia Giulia, which in their mother tongue are called “Altùris”: a geometry of reliefs engraved by vineyards. Although the region is relatively small compared to the rest of Italy, it ranks among the best for producers of white wines.
It is in this revered place that Marco and Massimo Zorzettig, heirs of a historical family, which has been a symbol of solid entrepreneurship in the wine world for three generations, founded Altùris.
The winery is devoted to the creation of exquisite wines, capable
of carrying all the scents and aromas that the grapes of this unique terroir offer.
At the far North East of Italy, close to Venice and at short walk from Cividale del Friuli at the border with Austria and Slovenia, Altùris vines benefit of an unique microclimate. The Julian Alps protect them from the cold winds of North, while the breezes from Adriatic Sea smooth and mitigate the climate, offering the vineyards exceptional conditions to produce grand quality wines.
The production at Altùris winery is set for 70 percent whites and 30 percent reds. They also produce incredibly great reds.
