From a famous region of Italy that is known for the production of the highest quality white wines in the mountainous terroir in Northern Italy, bordering Slovenia and Austria.
A deep, rich golden colour, Passito sweet wines in Italy are amazing dessert wines, but more in the style of Canadian Ice Wine (at a fraction of the price!) with a backbone of fresh acidity. That means that they also pair incredibly well with some savoury foods, such as blue cheese, lobster or a rich pate. Using the ancient ‘Appassimento’ technique the grapes are left to dry lightly on the vine until enough ‘Noble Rot’ occurs and the natural sugars are concentrated and the natural aromas amplified.
Aromas of acacia honey of dried peach, banana and candied apples. Light and fresh, incredibly viscous in the gkass and complex.
Pair with desserts based on almonds, walnuts, coconut & mango or raisins. It also accompanies desserts with custard, focaccia and dry pastries. Simply another level when paired with blue cheese. It’s a taste sensation you will never forget! Also try with savoury pairings such as lobster or a rich pate.

|VINIFICATION:||After a light drying on the vine using the ancient ‘AAppassimento’ process to concentrate sugars and aromas, the grapes are de-stemmed and softly pressed. The vinification continues in glass lined concrete barrels at a controlled temperature to enhance the richness of the characteristic aromas.|
This very special winery is located in the beautiful hills of Friuli, known as Italian White Wine Heaven: Friuli-Venezia Giulia, which in their mother tongue are called “Altùris”: a geometry of reliefs engraved by vineyards. Although the region is relatively small compared to the rest of Italy, it ranks among the best for producers of white wines.
It is in this revered place that Marco and Massimo Zorzettig, heirs of a historical family, which has been a symbol of solid entrepreneurship in the wine world for three generations, founded Altùris.
The winery is devoted to the creation of exquisite wines, capable
of carrying all the scents and aromas that the grapes of this unique terroir offer.
At the far North East of Italy, close to Venice and at short walk from Cividale del Friuli at the border with Austria and Slovenia, Altùris vines benefit of an unique microclimate. The Julian Alps protect them from the cold winds of North, while the breezes from Adriatic Sea smooth and mitigate the climate, offering the vineyards exceptional conditions to produce grand quality wines.
The production at Altùris winery is set for 70 percent whites and 30 percent reds. They also produce incredibly great reds.
