Description
Boal de Arousa is in the sub-appellation of Rias Baixas (best-known as the heartland of the Albarino grape) named Barbanza e Iria, situated on the Atlantic coast, 15 meters above the ocean in the Galicia region of Spain, north of Pontevedra; here resides the vineyards of this small family estate.
The wine produced here is entirely from a single, historic parcel called ‘Vina de Louro’. The grapes are entirely hand-harvested, vinified in tank and left to age for at least 7 months on the fine lees. Incredible freshness and youthful vigour makes this classic expression of Albarino irresistible.
The bright apple, apricot/peach and floral, citrus notes are wrapped around crisp, whip cracking acidity. The surprise here is the extra note of minerality that usually only occurs in Albarinos twice this price.
This is the perfect summer sipper that will pair nicely with shellfish, seafood, fresh vegetables, grilled chicken and of course seafood paella!
