Description
Italy is making some seriously good Champenoise Sparklers that are giving Champagne a run for its money these days.
The Oltrepo Pavese Metodo Classico D.O.C.G has been awarded the status of an Applellation since 2007. The production zone lies in south of Lombardy’s Pavia province.
This exquisite example, equivalent to a Vintage Rosé in Champagne, was just awarded an incredible 94 Points by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. It has spent 60 months on the lees.
Exquisite pale pink color with reflections between raspberry and salmon. Extraordinarily fresh nose of flowers and red fruits: raspberry, strawberry, cherry and red currant. In the mouth the attack is decisive with notes of red fruits, wild strawberries, cherries and pink grapefruit. Fine and persistent perlage. Soft and delicate in the mouth. Elegant and intruiguing, this is is a very complex and structured Rosé Champenoise with a balancing very fresh acidity.
This is a bone-dry, precise wine that combines pristine fruit, vibrancy and knife-like precision.
Pair with Crustaceans, Fish-based main dishes, Fish-based pasta or rice dishes, Shellfish or just as an aperitif
