With its ripe fruit and silky tannins, the wine is full and rich. It has a strong juicy element, along with cinnamon spice and cigar box from oak ageing, but plenty of fresh black-currant fruit. The nose is full of smoky, savoury notes and rich red fruits leading to a palate which is mellow and rounded. Great minerality, typical of the terroir, and layers of complexity, making this a great claret which can relied upon to deliver quality every year. Will age beautifully for 10+ years.
Dating back to the 1830s, this estate is among the oldest in the eastern Entre-deux-Mers.
Varietals: Bordeaux Blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc.
