Description

A striking beautiful ruby colour. On the nose it is fruity, fresh and bright with notes of black cherry, wild blackberry, hints of spice,  truffles, coffee and liquorice. In the mouth it is a structured and rich wine with a beautiful sweetness of jammy dark fruits and smooth tannins.

The Château Rauzé-Lafargue 2016  is a red wine from the AOP Cotes de Bordeaux Appellation, produced by Château du Garde vinified with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from 2016 vintage. We recommend opening or decanting for an hour before consumption.

To be enjoyed with grilled meats, leg of lamb, tomato based pasta or aged cheeses.

Serve at 14-16°c

The fermentation of our red wine occurs from 25 to 30°C in stainless steel thermos regulated vats. To obtain the best of the phenolic compounds , soft tannins and fruity taste, we practice the delestage , racking  and post-fermentation maceration of 8 days.

Terroir: clay limestone and gravels

Sustainably produced, the winery has a High Environmental Value level 3 certification.

Today it is the great grandson, Jean-Benoît Subra who runs this fantastic, small, family owned single Vineyard in Bordeaux. He is on a mission to create the future stars of Bordeaux.  Jean-Benoît Subra says “it is said that a good winemaker is always dissatisfied. We are constantly looking for excellence and originality, so my work keeps going from year to year, for your pleasure and also mine because, let us not hide it, a happy winemaker is a winemaker who makes you happy.”
