This is a delicious, lees aged Austrian Chardonnay with straw yellow with green reflections and golden shimmer in the glass. On the nose there’s a touch of sun-dried hay, toasted bread and butter, but also a lurking streak of lemon and vanilla mixed with apple and citrus aromas. On the palate sharp citrus, creamy and pleasantly dry with fine fruit sweetness. Full body and big minerality with a salty kick on the finish. Elegant and harmonious with a beautiful zippy acidity.

Considered to be one of the best wines of Austria by International Wine press and critics. This unique winery is located in Kleinhadersdorf west of the municipality of Poysdorf in the Weinviertel wine-growing region in Lower Austria. The vines cover just 20 hectares of vineyards in the best south and south-west locations on loess and clay soils in the Birthal, Bockgärten, Hohenleiten, Kugler and Schneiderberg vineyards.
Weinrieder are incredible white wine specialists. Owner and winemaker Freidrich Rieder and his family are intent on producing high quality, fruit-driven wines and Eisweins. As well as producing peppery Gruner Veltliners typical of the area, racy full-flavoured Riesling, this fine Chardonnay, and rich, minerally Weissburgunder Rieder has a great reputation as an Eiswein specialist and the wines regularly achieve marks of 90+.
Soil: loess / loam, south-facing The soil stores water very well. This is a prerequisite for a fine acid style, elegance and freshness of the wines.

Rigorous handselection in the vineyard, Careful de-stemming; the grapes were pressed gently and then fermented in cooled stainless steel tanks to retain the clean fruit character, the wine stays a while on the yeast, aged on the fine lees.

The winery is located in Kleinhadersdorf west of the municipality of Poysdorf in the Weinviertel wine-growing region in Lower Austria. They are planted exclusively with the white grape varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. The balanced microclimate and the fertile loess and clay soils make excellent wines possible.
In the vineyard, natural viticulture takes place with protection of beneficial insects, greening, as well as rigorous yield limitation through short pruning and consistent thinning. Very late grape harvest, gentle processing, minimal use of cellar technology and long aging on the lees result in wines with strength and character.
The wines are exported to a total of 30 countries, including China, Russia, Japan and the USA, where they can be found on the menu of the best restaurants.
