Description
A really exquisite single vineyard Chardonnay from the Côtes de Gascogne region of South West France. The partial aging in barrels gives both power and finesse, adding complexity to this Chardonnay which expresses the fruit and imbues a beautiful golden yellow colour. The nose is subtle, of floral character, with notes of fresh butter, sweet melon, pineapple, citrus, apple, roasted vanilla, almonds.. Fresh, juicy mouthfeel yet light, delicate, fine-grained, delicately fruity, rich, round, elegant and durable.

Domaine Tariquet, located in Gascony in the South West of France, has been owned by the Grassa family since 1912. This Côtes de Gascogne vineyard is one of the most technologically advanced in the world.
Tariquet grapes travel from field to fermentation tank in refrigerated wagons and under a layer of inert gas. Programmable, pneumatic presses gently squeeze the grapes, and, once in the tanks, grapes and juice are kept at cool temperatures for hours before the long, slow fermentation begins.
Some have called Grassa, who was named IWC Winemaker of the Year in 1987, a genius for having revolutionized the Gascon wine industry, while others have called him the best Australian winemaker in France.
Situated in the heart of Gascony, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees Mountains, Domaine Tariquet benefits from the mild influence of an oceanic climate. A strong temperature amplitude between summer days and nights produces ripe grapes with thick skins full of freshness and fruit. A mosaic of soils with clay-limestone and “boulbène”(silica, clay, sand) enhanced by ochre-colored sand known as “sables fauves”, deep and draining, perfect for white varietals.
Domaine Tariquet uses a sustainable method of growing and only uses natural fertilizers. With our concerns about protecting the environment, we have been sustainably managing the vineyards for over 20 years. The estate is certified ISO 14001 and HVE (High Environment Value) as well as Vegan friendly.
